Ethical Diamond Sourcing
At Everyday Diamonds, we take pride in our commitment to ethical sourcing of diamonds and jewelry. We uphold the highest ethical standards to ensure that our products are not only exquisite but also ethically sound. Our practices align with global initiatives, including the Kimberley Process, which tracks diamonds from their source to the market, thereby preventing the trade of conflict diamonds.
We exclusively partner with reputable suppliers who share our dedication to these standards, ensuring that all our diamonds are warranted to be conflict-free. Should any supplier violate these principles, we would promptly sever our relationship. We continue to support processes that promote legitimacy in the diamond trade, recognizing the positive impact diamonds have on economies and communities worldwide.
About the Kimberley Process
Everyday Diamonds proudly supports the Kimberley Process, an international initiative designed to track and certify diamonds' origins. The United States, through legislation passed in April 2003, requires all diamond retailers to source their diamonds from manufacturers with documentation verifying the ethical acquisition of their merchandise. The US Customs Service diligently enforces these requirements to ensure diamonds entering American ports comply with Kimberley Process standards.
Our Stance on Zimbabwe Diamonds
In line with our unwavering commitment to ethical practices, Everyday Diamonds does not source diamonds from Zimbabwe's Marange diamond district due to reported human rights abuses. We are actively engaged with our suppliers to ensure that we offer our customers only the highest quality and ethically sourced goods.
Committed to Ethical Metals
In addition to our ethical diamond sourcing, we extend our commitment to sustainability and ethical sourcing to our metals, including gold. This entails responsible mining practices that respect environmental and human rights considerations.
Responsible Mining Initiatives
At Everyday Diamonds, we insist on upholding the highest ethical standards throughout our business operations, and we require the same from our partners. This commitment extends to our gold sourcing practices. We pledge to:
Collaborate with suppliers that adhere to the highest human rights, social, and environmental criteria in sourcing our gold and metals.
Engage with suppliers to influence responsible gold sourcing.
Thoroughly research the mining, refinement, and manufacturing processes within the gold supply chain.
Prefer suppliers that source gold from environmentally responsible mines.
Work with suppliers to increase the use of recycled and secondary sources for gold.
Continuously measure and establish benchmarks for ongoing improvement.
We view our responsible mining policy as an evolving standard and commit to regularly reviewing and expanding it to have the broadest possible impact. At Everyday Diamonds, we stand by our dedication to ethical and sustainable practices in every facet of our business.
